Limestone Grinding Machine

Limestone Crushing Plant

Limestone crushing plant is the major crushing equipment in limestone quarry. Limestone production flow mainly include: limestone crushing and transportion, raw material pre-homogenizing, raw material preparation, raw material homogenizing, warm-up decomposition, sintering clinker stone crusher, limestone grinding and limestone packaging.

The design of a limestone crushing plant is the most important process, and decided by several factors as follows:

 1.The hardness, percentage of Si, moisture percentage of the raw limestone.
 2.The hour capacity of the crushing plant.
 3.Requested product sizes, percentage of the sizes, and their usage.
 4.The average size of the raw limestone before entering into the crushing system.
 5.raw limestone to be crushed.

Limestone Crushing Plant

According to the production of a limestone crushing plant: 30-50t/h, 50-80t/h, 80-120t/h, 120-200t/h, 200-300t/h, 300-400t/h, 400-500t/h, here we recommend three proposals:

Proposal 1: vibrating feeder + primary jaw crusher + impact crusher + vibrating screen + belt conveying system + control system

Proposal 2: vibrating feeder +primary jaw crusher +fineness jaw crusher +impact crusher(optional)+vibrating screen +belt conveying system +control system

Proposal 3: vibrating feeder +primary jaw crusher +Compound cone crusher +impact crusher(optional)+vibrating screen +belt conveying system +control system

In the above proposals, the main difference is the secondary crusher: using impact crusher (hammer crushing principle), or fineness jaw crusher(plate pressing principle), or Compound cone crusher(plate pressing principle).

If the market has request for the stone shape, and the users want to reduce the quick wear parts cost. Here we recommend firstly use primary jaw crusher + fineness jaw crusher/compound cone crusher as the primary and secondary crushers, take the impact crusher as the tertiary crusher to shaping the stones. This proposal has been adopted by many users, and proved to be workable.

Information about Limestone

Limestone is a very common sedimentary rock composed largely of the minerals calcite and/or aragonite, which are different crystal forms of calcium carbonate (CaCO3). Sometimes it is almost pure calcite, but most of limestone are filled with lots of other minerals and sand and they are called dirty limestone.

Limestone makes up about 10% of the total volume of all sedimentary rocks. In its broadest interpretation the term includes any calcareous material such as marble, chalk, travertine, tufa, limeshell, coral and marl each possessing different and distinct physical properties. The crystalline equivalents of limestone having the same chemical composition are calcite and aragonite. The rock containing more than 95% of calcium carbonate is termed high-calcium limestone. Recrystallised limestone takes good polish and is used as decorative and building stone. It is then called 'marble'.

Limestone is widely quarried for roadbeds, building and landscape construction, and cement manufacture. Limestone is the primary source of lime stone for cements or concrete. Cement is considered one of the most important construction materials ever invented by man. Significant quantities of limestone are quarried around the world for these purposes.

Uses of Limestone Include:

• The manufacture of quicklime (calcium oxide) and slaked lime (calcium hydroxide);
• Cement and mortar;
• Pulverized limestone is used as a soil conditioner to neutralize acidic soil conditions;
• Crushed for use as aggregate—the solid base for many roads;
• Geological formations of limestone are among the best petroleum reservoirs;
• As a reagent in flue gas desulfurization (sulfur dioxide air pollution control);
• Glass making, in some circumstances;
• Added to paper, plastics, paint, tiles, and other materials as both white pigment and a cheap filler.
• Toothpaste
• Suppression of methane explosions in underground coal mines
• Added to bread and cereals as a source of calcium
• Calcium supplement for poultry (when ground up)
• Remineralizing and increasing the alkalinity of purified water to prevent pipe corrosion and to return essential nutrients
• Used in blast furnaces to extract iron from its ore
• Medicines
• Cosmetics
• Art (sculptures)
